Bear Rock Flatbreads appealing to evening diners

Bear Rock Café, Cary, N.C., introduced a new category to its menu this month with a line of Pizzetas, which are prepared with hand-tossed flatbread. The new Pizzeta line includes Greek chicken, roasted vegetable, chicken poblano, barbecue chicken and pepperoni.

The Pizzetas are designed as 9-in. single servings garnished with a hearty helping of toppings. The Greek Chicken Pizzeta, for example, features flatbread topped with Kalamata olive spread, grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, spinach, mozzarella, provolone and cheddar cheeses and tomatoes, sprinkled with Feta crumbles.

In test markets, Pizzetas represented a solid percentage of restaurant sales for Bear Rock, particularly in the dinner day part. "In our test locations, Pizzetas have been extremely well received not only for dinner diners, but also for lunch and afternoon guests," said Gary Bryant, president and CEO.
Founded in 1997, Bear Rock Cafe, a bakery cafe chain, has six company-owned and 31 franchised Bear Rock Cafes, located in ten states across the nation.
