Brown worked for Shick USA for 16 years, serving many positions at the Kansas City, Mo.-based company. Brown also served on BEMA's Convention & Programs Committee for the last five years.
Dennis Gunnell, head of BEMA's search committee, said Brown was hired for his solid industry experience, excellent relationships, creativity and leadership skills. BEMA represents the baking industry's suppliers, including equipment manufacturers, packaging and ingredient suppliers, and service providers.
