The IBA is preparing for its upcoming fall meeting September 22, 2011 in Chicago in conjunction with the Long Company's Meeting. IBA is pleased to announce that Jean Terrien, a staff therapist at The Family Institute at Northwestern University, will be addressing members during the meeting. Founded in 1968, The Family Institute at Northwestern University is devoted to family and couple therapy, research and the education of family therapists. The Institute is deeply committed to a mission of strengthening and healing families. Ms. Terrien has a particular interest in working with family businesses and is a member of The Family Institute's Family Business Program.
The Family Institute recently published an article about family business succession in the June 2011 issue of Family Process. The article, “Don’t lock me out: Life story interviews of family business owners facing succession,” was selected as a feature article for the journal. IBA's meeting will be September 22 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Union League Club in Chicago, Illinois. That morning, the Long Company will host a tour of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and a Lunch at the Union League. Thursday evening the Long Company and IBA will hold a joint reception at the Peninsula Hotel.

You may also fill out the included form and fax or email it to Janine Mlynarcik whose contact information is listed at the bottom of the form. IBA members who are not presently members of the Long Company will be exempt from the registration fee and as always there is no registration fee to attend an IBA meeting thanks to the generous support of our meeting sponsors.
