Pie competition spotlights Key lime

During the Festival, Edwards partnered with the APC to support state pie legislation in Florida with a "Please Pass the Pie" information campaign. The state recently announced that Key lime pie will become Florida's official state pie. Passage of the so-called state pie bill makes Florida and Vermont the only two states with official pies. Apple pie is Vermont's official state pie.

The Edwards Baking Company is based in Suwanee, Ga. Edwards desserts are sold by Schwan's Bakery, Inc. as whole pies and in two-slice packages. Schwan's won 11 blue ribbons at the 2006 national pie competition.
