5+1 frozen tart cherries, thawed 5 lb.
Drain, reserving 1 lb. juice. Combine juice and cherries in blender and chop. Pour into 5-at. sauceDan.
Sugar 5 oz.
Cornstarch 3 oz.
Add. Cook over medium heat until thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.
Almond extract 2 tsp.
Margarine 1 lb. 8 oz.
Brown sugar 1 lb. 8 oz.
Combine. Mix at 2nd speed of 3-speed mixer until blended.
Flour 2 lb.
Quick-cooking oats 1 lb. 4 oz.
Baking powder 1/2 oz.
Ground cinnamon 1 tsp.
Combine. Add to above. Mix at 2nd speed until dough is crumbly.
Instructions: Press one-half of dough into ungreased sheet pan. Spread cherry filling over dough. Crumble remaining dough by hand over the cherry filling. Bake at 350_F for 30-35 minutes. Slice pan into 8 rows by 12 rows.Yields about 96 bars.
