The American Pie Council is accepting registration for the pie championships this April, which are held in conjunction with the Annual Great American Pie Festival.
The American Pie Council (APC) is now accepting registrations for the 15th Annual APC/Crisco® National Pie Championships, which will be held April 24-26, in conjunction with the 15th Annual Great American Pie Festival at the Ramada Orlando Celebration Resort and Convention Center in Celebration, Fla.
Commercial bakers return this year to compete for Best of Show with flavor options including apple, blueberry, fruit/berry, open cream, citrus, open category, nut, chocolate and raisin, sponsored by the California Raisin Marketing Board. Not only do winners in each category take home a prestigious title, but an opportunity to increase market share of that product, as has been the case in past years. The entry fee for commercial APC members is $125 per pie and $250 for non-members. Entries are due April 9. Entries submitted after April 9 must include an additional $100 per pie. Commercial bakers are encouraged to join the APC prior to registration to receive discounted entry fees.
Commercial bakers also are invited to attend the 2009 APC Pie Industry Seminar, Thursday, April 23, presented by AIB International. The one-day seminar provides professional and commercial bakers with information on making the best pies in America and provides an invaluable networking opportunity. The day-long seminar is $200 for members and $250 for non-members and includes a luncheon and two receptions. Tabletop exhibits also are available for $300.
