Sensient Colors' SensiJet range of edible inks for the Merlin FG food digital imaging system provide the ability to print high-quality digital images as tall as 2.8 ins. directly onto a variety of food products, including salty snacks, candy, bakery foods, crackers and snack cakes, at line speeds as fast as 500 ft. per minute. Print full-color images with the capability to print the same image product after product, or vary images from product to product. The technology is non-contact—the imaging hardware does not touch the food. And, because the system features high-speed performance, your production throughput is not impacted.
Unlike other technologies, no intermediate media, such as starch paper, is required—you print directly on food products.
The SensiJet system provides an efficient, economical way to decorate and customize products for in-and-outs, seasonal, regional and even retailer-specific product runs. Because the system is digital, you quickly and easily generate images for promotional tie-ins with movies, sports, music, websites and other media programs. The system is ideal for short-run or limited editions. SensiJet inks utilize FD&C dyes and are available in a full range of colors, including cyan, magenta, yellow, black, blue, purple and green. Additional colors can be developed to meet specific requirements and promotions. These FDA-approved inks are fully compliant with 21CFR73, 21CFR74 and 21CFR184, and are GMO-free and Kosher certified. Because the system, supplied by Spectra Technology Inc., is a PCbased controller, you can use any standard computer graphic file (.bmp, .tif, .jpg) to create printable images.
