Lamb's Thriftway wins cake challenge

Stacy Wade of Lamb's Thrifty, Wilsonville, Ore., won the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association's tenth annual Cake Decorating Challenge held last month at the Dairy-Deli-Bake 2005 seminar and expo in Minneapolis. Second place went to Gwen Kotmann, Frys and Frys Marketplace, Phoenix, Ariz., and third place went to Xiomara Urbina, Publix Supermarket, Miami. During the three-day competition, contestants decorated a wedding cake, enough cakes to fill one bakery showcase and three cakes of their choosing.
