Wilton celebrates 80th anniversary
Wilton Products Inc., Woodridge, Ill., a marketer of consumer and craft products celebrates its 80 anniversary this year. The company began as the Wilton School, where founder Dewey Wilton taught cake decorating and candy making to bakers, caterers and chefs. In 2007, 1,403 students attended the Wilton School, and throughout the years, students have come from all 50 states and 85 countries. In addition to basic decorating techniques, class topics include gumpaste, rolled fondant and cake sculpting.
