The International Cake Exploration Soceité will hold its 34th annual convention July 30-Aug. 2 in St. Charles, Ill. The show features exhibitors and sugar artists from around the world as well as demonstrations and hands-on classes from world-renowned teachers in the craft.
Demonstrations and hands-on classes will be offered for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Techniques in buttercream, fondant, gumpaste, airbrushing, stenciling and cookie decorating are just some of the topics that will be covered.
The Vendor Hall is your chance to see all the newest and latest sugar arts products from around the world. Attendees also will have the opportunity to tour Wilton Industries and the French Pastry School.
The convention also will host the Chicago Area Retail Bakery Association’s (CARBA) 9th annual Cake Contest on Sunday, Aug. 2. Decorators will compete in the following categories: rolled fondant, custom designs, flowers and sprays with borders and sculpted cakes. The winner of the competition will represent CARBA at the American Retail Bakery Exposition in Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 18-20.
