Krispy Kreme expanding to the UK
Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. signed a new development agreement with its franchisee in the United Kingdom, Krispy Kreme UK Ltd., under which the franchisee has agreed to open an additional 35 locations in the UK over the next six years. Krispy Kreme UK Ltd. currently operates 45 doughnut shops across the country.
"We continue to be delighted by and hugely appreciative of the UK's passion for Krispy Kreme,” Richard Cheshire, joint managing director, Krispy Kreme UK Ltd., said in a press release. “We have worked hard over the last eight years to successfully grow the brand here and now look forward to building on that success in the future by bringing the Krispy Kreme experience to more people in more places across the country."
Currently, the Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut can be found in over 660 stores in 21 countries, including Australia, Bahrain, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, the Republic of Korea, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.
