ADM appoints sweeteners and starches president

Christopher Cuddy will continue to manage all business development, sales, marketing and distribution activities for ADM’s sweeteners and starches product portfolio in his new role.

Archer Daniels Midland Co. has promoted Christopher M. Cuddy to the newly created role of president, sweeteners and starches, in the company’s Corn business unit. He previously was vice president and general manager for the sweeteners and starches business.

In his new position, Cuddy will continue to manage all business development, sales, marketing and distribution activities for ADM’s sweeteners and starches product portfolio, which encompasses a wide range of corn syrups, sugar, sorbitol, dextrose and maltodextrin, as well as Fibersol®, a soluble dietary fiber product. The division also produces starches for both food and industrial applications.

Cuddy joined ADM in 1998 and worked in various merchandising and management roles before leading the sweeteners and starches group, including president, Almidones Mexicanos, SA de CV, an ADM corn-processing joint venture based in Mexico; vice president, Corn Processing; and North American sales manager, ADM BioProducts. He began his career with the company as a senior commodity trader.

“Chris’ management background and deep industry knowledge will continue to be great assets for ADM Corn as we work to create additional value from our starch streams and deliver high-quality products to our customers,” Mark Bemis, senior vice president and president of ADM Corn, said in a statement.
