The event also featured a silent auction and product sampling. At the end of the evening, the entries were judged for originality, taste and appearance. The top three contestants in each of the four categories received prizes. The professional winners were: first—Kathleen Miliotis (Davio’s), dark chocolate praline cake; second—Virginia Wansley, chocolate stout cake; and third—Joshua Folz (Kroger Bistro), ricotta and goat cheese Meyer lemon cheesecake.
CSM Bakery Products was one of the event’s local sponsors and CSM corporate culinary manager Lynn Kuczajda also sat on the judging panel. "I loved seeing the creativity of others in this field while also supporting such a great cause," Kuczajda said in a statement.
