A&P debuts new whole grain breads
A&P, Montvale, N.J., is rolling out a new whole grain bread line in its in-store bakeries in an exclusive partnership with ACE Bakery of Toronto, Canada. ACE Stone Ground Whole Grain Breads will be available in A&P, Waldbaum's, The Food Emporium and Super Fresh stores. Varieties include multigrain demi-baguette, seven grain oval, harvest wheat oval, spelt and cracked wheat batard, cranberry raisin flax oval and pumpkin seed oval.
The par-baked breads are baked in stores daily. “We are excited to offer this new whole grain selection, which provides customers with healthy and delicious alternatives right in their local store,” Eric Cleas, A&P president and C.E.O., said in a company release. ACE Bakery, founded by husband and wife Martin Connell and Linda Haynes, opened its first artisan bread bakery in 1993 and launched its par-baked line in 2001.
