Master confectioner Julie Bashore has created the Sugar Arts Institute (SAI), an accredited certification program specializing in baking, cake decorating and sugar arts.
Bashore, 30-year industry veteran who has taught courses and demonstrated at expositions around the world, hopes to raise the standard for edible arts with the SAI.
Sponsored by Satin Fine Foods and Ateco Products, the not-for-profit institute is designed as a five-year program that will allow students to receive certificate, associates, bachelors, or master’s degrees in sugar arts. Courses will be offered at both brick and mortar locations and online.
