Otis Spunkmeyer acquires frozen cookie maker

The acquisition includes Chippery's 97,000-sq.-ft. plant in Austin, Texas. Chippery, founded in 1984, manufactures frozen cookie dough and thaw-and-serve cookies to restaurant chains, hotel chains, stadiums and sports arenas, schools, and other large institutions.

Otis Spunkmeyer manufactures, markets and distributes frozen cookie dough, pre-baked muffins and other hand-held sweet goods to foodservice accounts and food retailers. The company annually distributes more than 150 million pounds of products.
