Penton Media Inc., the parent company of Modern Baking, recently reorganized its bakery trade publications under the newly formed Penton Food Group. Jerry Rymont was named vice president of the new group, which includes Modern Baking, Baking Management and Supermarket News (SN) along with their websites, newsletters and events.
Rymont, who retains the title of SN publisher, joined Penton in 1998 as a regional sales manager. He served successively as publisher of Penton’s Manufacturing Group and publisher of Modern Baking before becoming group publisher of Penton’s Baking Group in 2005.
David Orgel, chief editor of SN, was named content director of the Penton Food Group, and Erin Fitzgerald was named integrated marketing director for the group. With Penton Media headquarters in New York City, Modern Baking editorial offices will remain in Chicago, and Rymont is based in Cleveland.
