The North Bay Business Journal, in partnership with NelsonJobs.com, recently conducted its sixth annual North Bay Business Journal survey, naming Costeaux French Bakery, Healdsburg, Calif., one of the Best Places to Work in the North Bay. Costeaux won in the category of business employing 51 to 100 people.
Applications were judged with particular emphasis on environments where people feel valued and can thrive. More than 120 nominations were received for companies employing from 25 to 4,500 workers. There were nearly 5,000 responses to the employee survey. The selection process included nominations followed by anonymous employee input and extensive review of company information on issues such as diversity, benefits and community involvement.
Other winners included Summit State Bank, Redwood Credit Union, La Tortilla Factory and Kaiser Permanente.
Costeaux French Bakery opened in 1923. The bakery café offers a wide selection of handmade breads, desserts and pastries. Costeaux also distributes its baked goods throughout Sonoma, Mendocino and Napa counties.
