Krispy Kreme unveiled a new concept it calls the “neighborhood donut shop” in Phoenix earlier this month. After a two-year absence from Arizona, Krispy Kreme also opened a factory store in Mesa in May this year. The factory store now supplies the three neighborhood stores that opened Oct. 9.
The new stores offer 15 varieties of donuts, including Krispy Kreme's signature Original Glazed. The stores also feature its coffee line of drip coffees and Krispy Kreme Chillers frozen beverages.
“Krispy Kreme is not only working hard, but working smart, to become the nation's neighborhood donut shop once again,” said Dan Brinton, Arizona franchise partner, in a company press release. “We've learned from past expansions and are confident in our product, our brand and our new approach to meeting consumer demand,” he added.
The Mesa factory store has the capacity to produce 400,000 donuts per week and delivers donuts to the neighborhood stores multiple times throughout the day, the company says.
