La Boulange opens downtown San Francisco location

La Boulange Café & Bakery is bringing a taste of France to downtown San Francisco with the Sept. 12 opening of its newest location. The bakery, which is part of the Bay Bread Group, has been open since 1999.

This first large downtown location will introduce a full display case dedicated to La Boulange’s signature macarons de Paris, including new flavors, such as chocolate hazelnut and toasted coconut. The bakery also will offer a new macaron de San Francisco, an almond flavored cookie to pair with coffee or wine. Other new menu options will include omelets, breakfast potatoes, and new side dishes for sandwiches and entrees including a quinoa salad.

“We’re excited to bring our food to Union Square and the Financial District,” owner and baker Pascal Rigo said in a press release. “Our guests have been asking us for years to open a location closer to their workplace.”

La Boulange will open another downtown location in the Merchant’s Exchange Building later this year.
