Melody Cookies, Oak Creek, Wis., was named the Wisconsin Baker's Association's (WBA) 2008 Bakery Operation of the Year. The award was presented last month during the WBA's annual dinner event held in conjunction with the Wisconsin Restaurant Expo.

Milt and Judy Baggenstoss, owners of Melody Cookies, accepted the award presented to them by WBA President Chuck Lane.

Melody Cookies is a family-owned and operated bakery celebrating 40 years in business this year. The business has expanded from 2,800 sq. ft. to a 15,200-sq.-ft. facility. One of the leading independent cookie makers in its area, the business has been honored by the Oak Creek Chamber of Commerce and Milwaukee magazine.
