A new opportunity for individual talents to shine

From 6th to 10th March 2010, under the aegis of the prestigious Europain Show at Paris-Nord Villepinte, the Bakery Masters competition will showcase the best bakers who competed in the Louis Lesaffre Cup and the Bakery World Cup.

The aim of this brand new competition is to reveal who, out of the 6,000 bakers who took part in the recent competitions, has the ability to represent their profession individually on the international stage.

Candidates from 17 countries (see details below) will compete as individuals in their own specialist category: bread, Viennese pastry, artistic piece. One “Master Baker” will then be chosen from each of the categories. The jury will be chaired by Peter Becker, President of the International Bakery Union, and managed by Christian Vabret, Meilleur Ouvrier de France.

From now on this new individual competition will be held every four years. It forms part of a cycle of competitions already renowned in the profession: the Louis Lesaffre Cup (national and international selection rounds for teams) and the Bakery World Cup (team competition).

To provide technical backup for this competition with its worldwide dimension, its organisers have called on the professional union EKIP “Les Équipementiers du Goût”

(Taste equipment manufacturers), owner of the Europain show, while the Lesaffre group, world leader in yeast, is the exclusive official partner.
