Barry Callebaut, Chicago, appointed Doug Dobler and Mark Lowman area sales directors for the company's North American gourmet division. Dobler will be responsible for the West region, Lowman for the Central. Dobler most recently served as western foodservice sales manager for Numo Organic Tea. Lowman was the director of sales, Midwest foodservice, CSM Bakery Supplies North America.
Steve Barnhart, Evanston, Ill., director of research and development at Highland Baking Co., Northbrook, Ill., has been certified by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation's Foodservice Management Professional® certification program.
Mitch Cohen was promoted to vice president, sales, for three companies in Ali Group USA, Winston-Salem, N.C.: Victory Refrigeration, Stellar Steam and Eloma. Cohen has held sales management positions in the industry since 1987. He most recently served as vice president, sales, for Infinity Fryers, Stellar Steam and Eloma.
The Wisconsin Bakers Association, Milwaukee, elected new board members for the 2008-2009 term. Elected to the two-year term are Joe Crubaugh, Fosdal's Home Bakery, Stoughton, Wis.; Mike Vande Walle, Uncle Mike's Bake Shoppe, De Pere, Wis.; Dawn Ebert, Simple Simon Bakery, Appleton, Wis.; and Derek Van Alstyne, Sweet Creations Village Bakery, Slinger, Wis. Crubaugh and Vande Walle are veteran members of the board, while Ebert and Van Alsytne are serving on the board for the first time.
