In an analysis of more than 27 billion social media conversations by social intelligence company NetBase, the custom decorated cakes from Florida-based Publix ranked as the most loved cakes for both men and women.
Other supermarkets and mass merchants, such as Walmart, Kroger and Tesco, saw largely negative responses to their cakes via social media.
NetBase conducted the analysis over one year and compiled a list of the top 10 things men and women want. Click here to see the entire infographic.
Here’s how the conversations about cake played out for women versus men, according to NetBase:
Women
Most Buzzed: Walmart, with 24 percent of the conversation about cake
Most Loved: Publix, with 94 percent positive conversations
Most Hated: Walmart, for its bad quality (particularly the icing) and service
Men
Most Buzzed: Betty Crocker, with 21 percent of the conversation about cake
Most Loved: Publix, with 90 percent positive conversations
Most Hated: Walmart, for its bad taste and bakery service
