Brown is the star of the Food Network’s popular baking show, Sugar Rush, and owner of CakeLove, a retail bakery in Washington, D.C. Beginning next month, holiday shoppers will be able to virtually adopt a marine animal through Oceana’s Web site, www.Oceana.org/adopt, and receive up to 16 ocean-themed cookie cutters, a baking mitt, an official adoption certificate, ocean facts and a sugar cookie recipe designed especially for the program by Brown and Chris Spinosa, head baker of CakeLove U Street.
Once a lawyer, Brown changed his career path to open CakeLove, which now has two locations in D.C. He has been recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit and featured by The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show, People magazine, Southern Living and many others. Modern Baking featured Brown and his bakery in its November 2004 issue.
