The new Hinds-Bock servo motor stroke adjustment mechanism interfaces with a check-weigher for automatic on-the-fly deposit volume adjustment for increased accuracy or for adjusting the deposit amount to meet label-weight requirements. The servo stroke adjustment mechanism is ideal for applications where product is added to a protein portion of varying weights to meet label weight. An upstream checkweigher feeds forward the protein weight, which adjusts the fill amount to accurately make label weight.
The new METTLER TOLEDO PUA679 floor scale allows for quick and easy washdown in sanitary applications. Lifting the front handles tilts the entire scale up to provide complete access for cleaning the floor and underside of the scale. A pair of built-in gas springs enable one person to lift the scale manually with minimal effort. Designed for easy cleaning, the scale is manufactured with smooth, stainless-steel surfaces and continuous welds that eliminate the corners and gaps where contaminants can collect. There is no pit to clean out and no need to recalibrate the scale after cleaning.
JetAir Technologies LLC replaced the compressed air nozzles on four bread processing lines in Kroger Bakery's Indianapolis facility. Each of the four lines includes two air applications: the first is to help move the loaves from a roller to a belt conveyor and the second removes crumbs from loaf tops. Kroger replaced their 100-PSI nozzle system requiring about 170 HP at an annual energy cost of over $68,000 with the 12-HP JetAir Air Knife/Nozzle system. The JetAir system saves about 155 HP with an energy cost of $4,813. Annual estimated savings amounts to $63,600. Kroger's cost will be recouped in just over three months and Kroger should see a 382 percent return on this equipment investment.

Ashworth's newest all-metal belt, the Omni-Pro, is the strongest belt in its class. It's been tested and proven to continuously withstand tensions of 400 lb. (180 kg) for 100,000 cycles. Its high strength and superior wear resistance result from patented, rod-to-link “zero-tension” welds and from patented “protrusion leg” links that prevent the belt's welds from coming into contact with spiral cage bar caps.
