Natural Products Inc., Grinnell, Iowa, announced the completion of a new soy roasting and milling factory. It will triple NPI’s production of roasted full-fat soy ingredients and enable the company to expand its product offering. The RBA, the ABA and BEMA announced the formation of a new industry event, All Things Baking, to be held Oct. 2-4, 2011, at Chicago’s Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center. Sara Lee Corp., Downers Grove, Ill., rejected an unsolicited $12 billion takeover offer from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR & Co.) Sara Lee’s foodservice division makes up 20 percent of the revenue for U.S. Foodservice, a company co-owned by KKR.
