Dunkin’ Donuts staged numerous online promotions in anticipation of the Father’s Day holiday on June 19 along with graduation season to position itself as a gift resource. All of the offers included online components.
On June 15 Dunkin’ Donuts staged a promotion giving followers of @DunkinDonuts on Twitter a chance to win two $25 Dunkin’ Donuts Cards (one for them and one for their dad), by sharing “what in their life runs better because of their dad.” Twitter followers entered using hashtag #FathersDDay. The chain’s social media team said it would select three winners.
The chain is also offering customizable gift cards exclusively on its website for Father’s Day and graduation. The cards can be personalized online with photos or customized messages, along with a custom designed greeting of the consumer’s choice. The chain also is offering three customized cards for the price of two through June 28.
Dunkin' Donuts cards can be purchased in any amount from $2 through $200. The cards are also available at various retail locations, including CVS/pharmacies, Staples, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Rite Aid. The Dunkin’ Donuts card can be recharged at participating Dunkin' Donuts restaurants or on the Dunkin’ Donuts website.
Additionally, consumers can purchase coffee gift subscriptions on www.dunkindonuts.com for discounts of up to $20 when they enter a promotional code through June 20. The subscription lets shoppers give two pounds of Dunkin’ Donuts’ Original Blend and/or Dunkin’ Decaf packaged coffee every month for two, three or six months.
Dunkin’ Donuts also recently announced the new DD Perks Rewards program at www.DDPerks.com. Consumers register on the site to start earning “Dunkin’ Dollars” on food and beverage purchases. (They earn one Dunkin’ Dollar with every $20 spent.)
