H.C. Brill partnered with their retail customers and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation this summer to raise money and awareness toward finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. To date, the foundation bearing her name has raised more than $25 million towards fulfilling her dream of finding a cure, funding over 100 research projects nationally.
Brill’s retail customers were offered rebates on select Brill products, including lemon cookies, lemon fillings, icings, lemon cakes and more. The retailers were encouraged to donate the rebates to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Marked products were promoted at more than 1,300 retail stores with signage describing Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Brill also hosted an Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the International Dairy, Deli and Bakery Association tradeshow held in Atlanta in June. Visitors to the exhibit could purchase lemonade and make donations.
“Brill is proud to help out with this worthy cause,” Brill president Bret Weaver said. “Childhood cancer is devastating to any family. By helping to continue what Alex started, we all hope to find a cure.”
