Flatbread sandwich restaurant chain Cosi Inc. hired Carin Stutz as its CEO. Before joining Cosi, Stutz was president of global business development for Brinker International Inc., leading franchise development and operations for 240 Chili's Bar and Grill and Maggiano's Little Italy restaurants.
Stutz starts in the role on Jan. 1. Prior to Brinker, Stutz was an executive at Applebee's International Inc. and Wendy's International. Interim CEO Mark Demilio will return to the board while board member Stephen Edwards will become executive chairman.
Cosi owns 80 restaurants and works with 57 franchise restaurants across the U.S. and in the United Arab Emirates.
