Rich Products of Canada Ltd. has acquired frozen dessert and ice cream manufacturer Dorgel Ltd. and Elistan Foods. The acquisition includes all aspects of Dorgel's and Elistan's business, including its entire product portfolio, manufacturing operations, research and development capabilities.
Dorgel and Elistan sell an expansive line of Dorgel-branded frozen desserts to top retailers across Canada.
"We're thrilled about the acquisition," said Aldo Belvedere, president of Rich Products Corp.’s Canada division, in a press release. "It marks an important entry for Rich's into the branded retail marketplace in Canada. In addition, the frozen dessert manufacturing capability in Canada positions us to meet the growing demand for ice cream and frozen desserts in this important market."
Effective immediately, all 47 of Dorgel's and Elistan's Woodbridge, Ontario-based associates will join the Rich Products of Canada family. Owner Nick Lucchese joins Rich's as vice president of business development; and Eric Cannataro, co-owner, joins Rich's as plant manager.
