The American Culinary Federation (AFC), St. Augustine, Fla., named Andreas Proisl National Pastry Chef of the Year at its recent national convention. Proisl is the executive pastry chef at Isleworth Country Club in Windermere, Fla. The award, sponsored by Splenda®, recognizes a pastry chef who has displayed a passion for the craft, has an accomplished reputation in the pastry field and has helped educate others by sharing skills and knowledge.
ACF’s convention, held this month in Anaheim, Calif., provided chefs, students and foodservice professionals with workshops and seminars, demonstrations, national competitions and a trade show featuring more than 100 exhibitors.
