The Chicago Area Retail Bakers of America (CARBA) will hold its Cake Decorating Contest on March 17 during the Chicago Flower and Garden Show at Navy Pier.
Only eight bakeries will be allowed to compete this year. Applications are due by Friday, Jan. 18. In keeping with the spirit of the Chicago Flower and Garden Show, this year’s theme is "The Art of Gardening," which focuses on art, flowers, design and texture.
To be approved, the contestant must have worked for at least two years and be an RBA-Affiliate member before the contest begins. The winner will receive $300 as well as travel and accommodations to the International Baking Industry Expo, where he or she will represent CARBA in the Creative Decorating Competition.
