Alfredo Ortiz, vice president of foodservice national account sales at CSM Bakery Products, has been elected to the board of directors for the International Food Manufacturers Association (IFMA).
In addition to being on the IFMA board, Ortiz will serve on the 6th District Congressional Advisory Roundtable for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Before joining CSM Bakery Products, Ortiz was a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, where he worked with such multinational customers as Kraft Foods, Diageo and Samsung. He also founded Grupo MAS, a business strategy and development consultancy targeting the Hispanic market in the United States. The consultancy was later acquired by the Zyman Group.
Ortiz received his MBA at the University of Michigan with a concentration in marketing and graduated from Pomona College with a bachelor's degree in economics. He also is the recipient of the GTE Fellowship.
"We are very proud to welcome Alfredo Ortiz to the IFMA board of directors,” Larry Oberkfell, president and CEO of IFMA, said in a press release. “His innovative thinking and enthusiasm make him an ideal complement to the individuals who guide our association and lead our committees."
