Sweet Blessings, a faith-based nonprofit organization that creates birthday cakes for critically ill or impoverished children, will host it's first 5K fundraiser and 1-mile "cake walk" on May 6 in Lexington, Ky.
The event, sponsored in part by Satin Fine Foods, also will feature cupcakes, ice cream, games and vendors. Funds raised will go toward creating birthday cakes for 5- to 14 year olds living in poverty, hardship or experiencing life threatening illness.
Sweet Blessings also is looking for ministry volunteers–including professional cake decorators and bakers–to help create tiered and sculpted cakes and train novice volunteers. For more information, visit www.sweetblessingscakes.org.
