Whole Foods Market Inc., Austin, Texas, signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire Greenlife Grocery LLC, which operates two stores in Chattanooga, Tenn., and Asheville, N.C. Both locations feature in-store bakeries.

We believe Whole Foods Market’s presence in the Southeast and our culture as a company will be enriched by this deal with Greenlife.”

Whole Foods operates more than 280 stores with in-store bakeries in 38 states, Canada and the United Kingdom.
